The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Our bounty is your waste

A good waste or recycling collection service is about give and take; literally.

You give us your waste and we take it away; it should be a seamless, nigh on invisible service.

Occasionally, however, what we encounter is like something from the ‘Wild West’ – with a dollop of spaghetti thrown in.

With your help and understanding we can avoid some of the common issues that are illustrated below so that you can forget about your waste and concentrate on your business.

The Good

An unobstructed, easy to access bin with its lid closed and no waste on the floor. This is how a bin should look whether it is full or empty.

The Good

The Bad

Obstructed and overfilled bins will create problems with your service. Waste on the floor and open bin lids indicate a site may need more containers. Obstructed bins and waste stacked around bins can prevent us from collecting containers. If we can’t manoeuvre the containers to the back of our trucks we can’t unload them and this means we can’t perform the service you pay us for. Contamination of bins, which is a major service issue, is also a problem which prevents emptying.

The Bad

The Ugly

Sometimes the job of a waste collection operative can be a difficult one. …
